Saag Aloo
Ingredients
- 200 g chopped frozen spinach
- 1 med. Onion chopped
- 200 g potatoes peeled and cubed
- 2 tbsps oil
- 1 tsp whole mustard seeds (black)
- ¼ tsp chilli powder
- 2 cloves garlic peeled and chopped
- 1 green chilli finely chopped
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- fresh curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Method
Heat oil in a pan and when hot add mustard seeds.
After 2-3 secs. add curry leaves and garlic and fry for 2 mins.
Now add chopped onion and saute for few minutes until transparent.
Now add green chilli, turmeric and chilli powders. Add potatoes and very little water so as to cook without burning.
After the potatoes are well cooked add chopped frozen spinach and cook further for another 5-8 minutes.
Add salt to taste.
